Our moving process
You are about to move into a new home or abroad and do not know the implications of this? ORBIT ROMANIA team can offer you technical and logistical support from the very first step.

After accepting the offer, your file will be taken by the operations department and they will start organizing, team and trucks planning .

You will be contacted to determine the day / days you want to make the move, arriving of the team at your residence and organizational details.

We can, several days before moving, deliver at your residence some packing materials, if you want to start a selection of items and pack them yourself.

On the day agreed with our operational department our crew will arrive at your residence at the requested hour to do the packing, after our crew leader has made a brief tour of the property with you, they will be prepared with special materials such as :

Packing paper required for: tableware, decorative objects, fragile items.

Plastic bubble wrap: packing used for furniture, paintings, items with atypical features, which can not be placed in boxes.

Cardboard boxes of various sizes: dishes, clothes, books, CDs / DVDs, toys.

After finishing packing, your personal effects will be transported to the new location. Transportation will be different, depending on distance and location.

Airfreight: Recommended only for small volumes due to significantly higher costs and the size and conditions imposed by the airline. It is a widely used mode of transport where there is a short period of time allocated for transport.

Roadfreight: It is a way to carry personal effects anywhere in Europe and in the surrounding areas with bodied trucks. Depending on the volume, items can be transported by groupage trucks or dedicated trucks. At the request of clients, even small volumes can be transported in dedicated mode. Trucks are used for tonnages ranging from 3.5 tons to 20 tons.

Seafreight: This type of transport is recommended when the country of destination is on another continent and is the best solution to reduce transport costs and sometimes the only solution for high volume transportation. Depending on the volume transported, there is the choice of a 20 foot container with a maximum capacity of 27 cubic meters, a 40 foot container with a maximum capacity of 67 cubic meters or 40 HC(high cube) container capacity built over 80 cubic feet . Also, for small volumes, we can use any variation of loads – your packages are transported in containers but together with other parties belonging to other customers.

Once the goods reached their destination, they will be subject to customs inspection (if necessary) and start delivery to your residence. Our team at destination will provide the following services: delivery to the residence with their own trucks, unloading, unpacking, assembling furniture, placing it in position and collection of packaging. Other additional services may be made available on request: electrician, carpenter, plumber.

All waste materials and debris will be collected and removed from the property and returned for recycling by our team.

During the complete moving process you will be assisted by our Operations Department Manager and his operations team. They will supervise the moving, providing support and prompt answers to all your questions.

Insurance
Insuring your goods is not a waste of money. You may be moving your goods with the most reliable and famous moving company in Southern Europe and amongst the best moving companies worldwide, but we still cannot predict unexpected incidents during transport! Therefore we would advise you to arrange an All Risks Insurance cover for your shipment via ORBIT ROMANIA. Your valuables and belongings will be securely shipped with carefully selected agents.

  • When vessel, truck or rail is crashed or derailed.

  • Pair and set Clause – up to 10% / Euro 10.000 per claim.  The insurer can either (1)repair or replace any part to restore the pair or set to its value prior to the loss, or (2) pay the difference between the actual cash value of the property before and after the loss.
  • Depreciation Clause – up to 10% / Euro 10.000 per claim.
  • Consequential Loss Clause – up to 10%/ Euro 10.000/ claim. Example: The washing machine is damaged from the removal. Until the spare part will be delivered the customer can claim the expenses from the laundry (External cost).
  • Financial Loss Clause – up t up to 10%/ Euro 10.000/ claim.  Example: The shipping line loaded accidently the container on the wrong vessel. Consequently, the family who is waiting to receive their car & hhgds can claim the cost for a rented car for this period. Important!! It must be proved that the delay occurred due to this reason and not due to unpredictable circumstances i.e. strikes etc.
  • Waiver of Underinsurance Provided E. 600/ E. 1.000 / cbm.
  • Compensation Clause.

IMPORTANT:

  • Deductable Euro 200 for any one claim.
  • Minimum Insurance Cost Euro 75.
  • All Values should reflect the Replacement value.
  • The valued inventory list must be sent to Orphee Beinoglou at least 2 days prior the packing date.
  • You have 10 days after delivery to report any damages and make a claim!
  • War / strike risks (upon request) + 0,20%
  • In combination with the above insurance options OB customer can insure his\her baggage’s for one trip only provided that the risk has not started yet.
  • Insured value up to Euro 10.000.
  • Valuables should not exceed Euro 5.000 in total.
F.A.Q.

Packing crews are unauthorized by law to interfere with service disconnections i.e. air-conditioning, chandelier etc. However, our handyman, by arrangement can arrange all the electrical disassembling of your household goods upon request. 

Packing in general needs special treatment. It takes time because every item in the house is different. The time which usually takes for packing is the result of many variables. The total volume of your house, the accessibility and the nature of items you wish to move are factors which influence the duration of the packing. Our specialist Moving Consultant will advise you the required days just after surveying your house. 

Normally, if the packing exceeds a single day, we leave as the last minute packing items such as the beds so that you can spend the night as smoothly as it gets. 

You can ask for some carton boxes to pack your most personal effects from your Moving Coordinator to be sent to you some days before the packing is scheduled. 

Due to the pressure of the day and the great volume of your goods it’s likely you won’t be able to unpack all the carton boxes the day of the delivery to your new house. Part of our service includes the collection of the debris. After you are finished with the unpacking of the cartons please give us a call to arrange the desirable date for pick up. 

It would be very helpful from your behalf if you could spend some time to decide which items you are finally moving to your new house. It will save us time if it is set which things go where so that we can be more accurate in our quotation.
